Program Information

SAC has immediate openings for Kindergarten–6th grade for before and after school care and all-day care on school closure days. SAC complements the school day with a state of the art computer lab and homework center. Staff coordinates with school personnel to ensure support with school assignments. The program is an affiliate of the Boys and Girls Club and 4-H. Transportation to and from Fort Belvoir Elementary School is provided by Fairfax County Public Schools. During the school year SAC also has a part day preschool program for children 3–5 years old. Programs available are for two, three, or five days from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Curriculum emphasizes physical well-being, language usage, attentiveness, imagination, knowledge about the world, and social emotional development.

SAC Program

The School Age Center (SAC) offers a developmental child care program for students in 1st through 6th grades with working parents. Children have the opportunity to do homework, swim, bowl, arts and crafts, computer lab, and all sorts of games and field trips.

Full Day Child Care is available on teacher workdays, winter and spring breaks, and snow days announced before students depart for school.

Before and After School Program follows the bell schedule of Fort Belvoir Elementary School. Breakfast and snacks are provided by SAC. Transportation to and from Fort Belvoir Elementary School is provided by Fairfax County Public Schools. The program is not available in the afternoon for unscheduled early school closures.

PAC Meetings

Parent participation is highly encouraged. Parents are invited to attend the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) Board meetings. Meetings are the first Thursday of every month. The WIN program allows parents to earn points through participating in volunteer opportunities at the center or attending parenting classes through the Family Advocacy Program. Parents who earn ten (10) credits may receive a 10% discount off their 1st child's monthly fee for the Part-day Preschool and full day programs.
