Flat Stanley has come to visit Fort Belvoir, and your School Liaison Officers want to see the adventures he is having with your family this summer!  Flat Stanley is a smile-filled way for kids to reach out to others, for families to stay connected, and for everyone to have fun. 

Contest Categories:

3-5 years - "The Adventures of Flat Stanley in Your Back Yard!"
Bring Flat Stanley with you as you blow bubbles, read a book, go on an insect scavenger hunt, or anywhere you like to have fun.  

6-8 years - "Where in the United States is Flat Stanley?"
Your background can depict anyplace in the United States!  Remember an awesome travel experience or take Flat Stanley on a new virtual or in-person adventure as the background for your Flat Stanley photo. Be sure to let us know where your Flat Stanley is by writing the location on the photo or in the application.

9-12 years - "Where in the World is Flat Stanley?" 
Your Flat Stanley can travel anyplace in the world!  Remember an awesome travel experience or take Flat Stanley on a new virtual or in-person adventure as the background for your Flat Stanley photo. Be sure to let us know where your Flat Stanley is by writing the location on the photo or in the application.

13-18 years - "10 Best Ways to Entertain Flat Stanley in Style"
Use your imagination to show Flat Stanley how to have fun from your favorite read or video and more.  Consider innovation, inspiration and amusement.
 

How to Enter:

Step 1 - Print, cut and color the Flat Stanley template or use a Flat Stanley you already have.
Step 2 - Bring Flat Stanley with you to the backyard, weekend escapades or your virtual travels.
Step 3 - Place your Flat Stanley next to you or in front of your virtual activity, and take a photo.
Step 4 - Submit your Flat Stanley with the contest application and photos (see contest entry form for details).
Step 5 - Tell your friends and family to look for your Flat Stanley adventure here.
 

Prizes:

First, second and third place entries will be awarded with amazing art supplies.

Judging Criteria: 

The entries will be judged according to the following criteria. 

1. Creativity and Originality - There is evidence of imagination, creativity and individuality. The photo is an inventive presentation of Flat Stanley in a real or virtual environment.

2. Clarity of Theme - The photo of Flat Stanley clearly expresses or is an effective interpretation of the age-level theme. 

3. Appearance - The photo of Flat Stanley is organized, clearly depicts Flat Stanley and is interesting to the audience.

Adjudication: All entries will be judged based on the above criteria and a panel of judges will make the final selections.
