Note: This event has already passed.

Take part in celebrating the life and achievements of one of the most influential and well-known American civil rights leaders, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This January 18th, 2021, marks the 26th year of this observance which encourages all Americans to honor Dr. King’s philosophy of nonviolence, racial equity, justice, hope, and building community.

Take this opportunity to share, in creative writing or visual art, how you honor the legacy of a man who once said, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” Like Dr. King, use this contest to express “What equality means to you” and share your voice with the Fort Belvoir community.
