Sports and Fitness will host a Health and Fitness Expo to provide an overall health assessment experience and knowledge of wellness opportunities on Fort Belvoir and in the community.

There will be a variety of exhibitors attending to educate the Fort Belvoir Garrison and Community about sleep, nutrition, and physical activity.  We also want to provide participants with wellness strategies to improve their spirituality, mental health, finances, and overall safety.

Participate in Aerobics and Nutrition demonstrations.

Light refreshments will be offered.

Expo participants will have the opportunity to;

  • Complete a Physical Activity Level (PAL) questionnaire. The PAL is a quick questionnaire that will help you identify your physical activity levels based on the number of hours you sleep, sit, stand, and perform activities of daily living.

  • Sign up for the Civilian Health and Fitness Program (CHFP). The Civilian Health & Fitness Program (PDF) empowers you to get fit DURING your work day; allowing three hours a week of command-approved fitness time for 6 months! Great for beginners and cost-free, there’s no excuse not to give it a try.

  • Engage with Expo vendors using the Expo passport. Visit 3 Expo vendors for your chance to spin the prize wheel and to receive a free Expo T-shirt (available to the first 100 participants).

Giveaways!

  • Spin Wheel.

  • Door Prizes.

Meet Chef Rush!

BEL_SF_Chef_Rush.jpg

"Years of working behind the scenes to feed top military brass, three U.S. presidents and foreign dignitaries including the queen of England have taught Chef Andre Rush to live by the old adage, "“Be seen and not heard.”"

But after a photo of him cooking outside the White House in a chef’s coat rolled up over 24-inch biceps went viral, the 45-year-old retired Army master sergeant is having a hard time staying under the radar — maybe for good."

- Military Times Article

He will be hosting the prize wheel from 11 a.m. 12 p.m.
