2019 Individual Match Play Championship

Play will begin May 4 and run until all matches are played. Registration ends April 22.

Format:

Match Play is a format of play that is scored in a hole-by-hole competition. The side that holes its ball in less strokes than its opponent wins that particular hole. In a handicap competition, the side with the lowest net score wins the hole.

Winning:

The side who has won the most holes wins the match. When a side is winning by more holes than there are holes remaining, the match is won. A match can be won before all 18 holes are played. For example, if you win the first 10 holes, you’ve won the match because there are only 8 holes left to play.

Brackets/Flights:

Participants must have a valid USGA handicap. Based on the number of participants. Below is a breakdown of potential brackets:

• Regular Individual Scratch Flight - No handicap (handicap max 10.0).
• Men's Individual Handicap Flight -100% of current handicap.
• Senior Individual Flight (Must be age 50 by tournament date) - No handicap (max handicap 12.0).
• Ladies -100% of current handicap.
• Consolation brackets for every flight. This allows for all players to play at least two matches.

This tournament consists of several rounds of play. The first 3 rounds will be played as follows:

• Round 1 will be played on Saturday, May 4.
• Round 2 will be played on Saturday, May 11.
• Round 3 will be played on Saturday, May 18.
• Saturday shotguns begin at 8 a.m. Players can call 7 days in advance to book a spot. The shotgun course is cart mandatory.
• Players that are not able to play in the shotgun can book a tee time in the afternoon after the shotgun is finished or book a tee time on the non-cart mandatory course anytime during the day.
• If participants cannot play on the designated Saturdays, they can make other arrangements with the Pro Shop, but must do so before the next round of play (i.e. round 1 must be played before May 4 and round 2 must be played before May 11).
