Veterans Day Holiday Hours

 

***All CYS Facilities are closed on Friday, Nov 9, for training.***

 

Most MWR Facilities will be closed on Sunday, Nov 11 (Veterans Day) and Monday, Nov 12 (Federal Holiday) including all Child Development Centers and CYS services. The following facilities will be open:

Facilities open on Sunday, Nov. 11:

  • Golf Club/Niblick's Grill: Normal operating hours of 6 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Auto Skills Center: Open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • The Body Shop (Fitness Center): 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Graves Fitness Center: Open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Wells Field House: Open for the Veterans Day Basketball Tournament.
  • Benyaurd Indoor Pool: Holiday hours of 12 - 5 p.m.
  • Outdoor Recreation: Normal operating hours of 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Facilities open on Monday, Nov. 12 (Federal Holiday)

  • Benyaurd Indoor Pool: Open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Outdoor Recreation: Open 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Special Closures

  • Library will be closed on Saturday, Nov 10
  • The Marina will be closed on Tuesday, Nov 13

Local Highlights:

The U.S. National Park Service is waiving fees at most of its day-use recreation sites over the Veterans Day holiday weekend.

Mount Vernon  is offering free admission to Mount Vernon for all active duty, former, or retired military personnel (Nov 11, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.).

Fairfax County Parks is offering veterans and active duty free admission to the RECenters. Please bring your military ID. (Sun, Nov 11).

Monticello – Charlottesville, VA: U.S. military veterans can receive complimentary admission to Monticello for Veterans Day Weekend (Nov 10 - 12).

Workhouse Arts Center is offering 10% off all on-site art sales this year on Nov 10 and 11, to all active duty and retired service members.
